Macmillan Cancer Support is the official charity of PPP.
Virgin Money Giving and Just Giving are the most effective way to raise your sponsorship and we highly recommend that you use it. Set up your own page or make a donation
When setting up a page, choose Macmillan Cancer Support as your charity. Please then make sure you click through to say you are taking part in an organised event, and then search for Winchester PPP Pedal Paddle Pace 2020. Please select this event and then start personalising!
Did you know that just £200 could pay for a Macmillan nurse for a day? Our nurses provide a lifeline to not only the person diagnosed with cancer, but the friends, families and loved ones. Your donations make a significant difference to so many lives affected by cancer. Getting sponsored to take part in an event is a fantastic way of not only raising money for a great cause, but maximising the challenge you are undertaking to make it even more of an achievement at the end. Over 9 years, PPP has raised close to £100,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support, so why not be part of that and join Team MacMillan today and download the sponsorship form.
Macmillan Cancer Support
When you have cancer, you don’t just worry about what will happen to your body, you worry about what will happen to your life. At Macmillan, we know how a cancer diagnosis can affect everything and we’re here to support you through. From help with money worries and advice about work, to someone who’ll listen if you just want to talk, we’ll be there.
We’ll help you make the choices you need to take back control, so you can start to feel like yourself again.
We are the nurses and therapists helping you through treatment. The experts on the end of the phone. The advisers telling you which benefits you’re entitled to. The volunteers giving you a hand with the everyday things. The campaigners pushing for better cancer care. The community supporting you online, any time. The fundraisers who make it all possible.
Macmillan work in Hampshire
Every day 27 people in Hampshire hear the news that they have cancer. This will see Hampshire’s population of people living with cancer more than double between 2010 and 2030. This increase will mean more local people feeling isolated and alone, every day, even after treatment ends. Macmillan and its supporters must take action now to make sure we’re there to solve these issues.
Thanks to supporters like you who are taking part in PPP, we are able to fund some fantastic services in this area, including the Macmillan Information and Support Centres at the Southampton General Hospital and Queen Alexandra Hospital, and over 100 Macmillan professionals like our GP advisers, physiotherapists, financial advisers, dieticians, and of course our Macmillan nurses.
The needs of people living with cancer are not fully met, so we must increase our support so that cancer care is fit for the future. Joining Team Macmillan today will help us ensure that no one will face cancer alone in your community.
You’re the reason we can keep providing our vital services, so no one has to face cancer alone.
