If the event raises more than costs incurred, Winchester Round Table family is raising money for motor neurone disease association (MNDA) which is a life-affecting disease impacting the lives of our members, and we will donate funds raised to the MNDA.

Ethical Activities objective is to reduce antisocial behaviour and positively engage young people with the outdoors. Our work is only possible with the support of the Winchester PPP.

Tom Foster
Founder - Ethical Activities

Our Kayaks, Buoyancy Aids and Water Safety are a partnership with Ethical Activities CIC

Ethical Activities is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company Social Enterprise, based around three principles, Safe, Fun, Learning.

Founded by the two directors who met on the River Themes and later lived and worked together at an activity centre in the New Forest, they set out to do business differently.

They realised that the outdoors isn’t free for everyone, and many people face barriers to access it, so they created Ethical Activities CIC.

With Tom in the New Forest and Stu in Devon, they drive to deliver Safe, Fun, Learning Experiences, Instructor Training, Technical Advise and Organisational Operational Guidance, as well as making access to these activities and courses, achievable for people that need it.

They run some highly successful programmes, such as Carvers Kayak Club in the New Forest, a local kayak club in partnership with the local community centre for young people, which is free to access. The main objective is to reduce antisocial behaviour, engage young people with the outdoors positively, and help build a community of young people to develop the local area. This has been hugely successful and continues to grow every year.

None of this would have been possible without the support of the Winchester PPP.

The partnership between the PPP and Ethical Activities, where the PPP own the kayaks and safety kit while Ethical Actvities store and maintain it year round, allows the not-for-profit company to focus on reducing other barriers for people to access the outdoors.
